Onocologist Visit Today

Friday, November 22, 2013

I learned quite a bit from this young man today. Apparently there are several types of lung cancer, so we have to identify exactly what type I have. He has ordered a pet scan for next Friday - so Thanksgiving I can have all the protein, no carbs, no caffeine, and no sugar. So it will be turkey and vegetables and water for me. Also he is ordering an MRI and wants to check my brain, I guess it is more common for lung cancer to also go to the brain. I liked his style and am comfortable he will figure out the best way to handle this situation. So it looks like I am back on the Dr. circuit for quite awhile.

Got my flu shot Tuesday, so maybe I will venture out more next week. With a change in weather, and school back in session everyone seems to end up with bronchitis or some type of cold. That is something I cannot afford at this stage of the game.

Am putting my large house on the market, hopefully I find a family looking for a great home for Christmas. I need to get back to work as I have three other properties I need to get sold pretty soon. Anyone looking to move to Florida?? Have a great weekend!

So glad you have a Doctor you trust and are able to talk comfortably to. This means a lot. Praying that a treatment is found that you and the good doctor will decide is best for you! emoticon

Looks like you have an intelligent and caring doctor. My prayers will be with you on this new journey. You seem so positive and know that is the largest part to beating this horrid disease.

I'm praying the doctor finds the best way to deal with your type of lung cancer, I'm glad he's being proactive and checking your brain too. Sounds as if he's thourough and up to date.
I'll continue to pray for your healing and for you to sell your property. Personally, I won't ever live in Florida again but I know a lot of people like it. So hopefully your place can sell quickly for a good, fair price.
    Love and prayers,

I admire you so very much. With your challenge, you seem to have such a positive attitude. I do think about you and send you positive thoughts and prayers. I hope that you and your doctor come up with a plan that isn't too invasive and you get through this just fine. Please keep us posted.
My DH and I are thinking about Florida, but Cape Coral on a canal. Send me the link to your property for sale for the heck of it anyway.
    Many hugs

The warm weather is intriguing but I think I'll stay where I am where I am. Hope that doctor can diagnose you correctly and treat it appropriately!
