not a good way to end date night

Friday, December 27, 2013

In an effort to repair my marriage my husband and I went out last night alone....he didn't get me anything for Christmas so we planned to go shopping and grab a meal out. The weather had other ideas though and we were forced to turn around part way out of town. We ended up shopping locally getting a few things for the kids and dogs and decided to go get dinner...the meal was good and I packed half of it away to bring home rather than eat it all at once. On the way home he asked if I wanted to drive so I said sure.

As I m driving on crappy roads doing about 50 a group of snowmobilers pulls out onto the shoulder ahead of us. The last one of the bunch came flying out fishtailing into my lane. He then proceeded to pass all his friends driving down the center of my lane and eventually the center of the road. Then this idiot my took all my quick thinking and driving skills not to hit and kill not just him but his entire group, myself and my husband. I had to straddle the shoulder/snowbank/ditch, pray I didn't get sucked into the ditch and pray my van didn't roll over. I was shaking so bad and was so tense that hubby made me pull over afterwards. I also called the cops....idiots need to stay off the roads.

So sorry this happened to you! Glad you're ok now. Quick thinking on your part, good for you. I hope they found these nutballs and gave them h--l.

Thank God you were alert and drive safely. Good job on your part. And I agree with calling the cops. Citizens can help that way. J

I hope they found them and gave them tickets. Not only was it a dumb thing to do but if you had hit and killed one of them you would have had to deal with that forever and it wouldn't have been your fault!

...and so how did date night with your hubby end? I hope you are able to gain perspective on your relationship and proceed from there! So, glad no snow mobile riders were injured, too!
