Week 1 - Action Words

This blog was really hard! I have found many things I need to figure out!

Mindset: Setting your mind on what you want and going for it.
At this point in my journey, I’m having a little trouble getting my head into the game, because my old style of dieting is no longer working for me. I want to be the healthiest I can be without going too far.

Support: Journeys are almost impossible without support. I want to learn from my teammates and also be an encouragement to others.

Visualization: It’s hard to know where you are going without an idea of where you are going. Right now, I don’t have a good idea of where I am going exactly.

Acceptance: Accept nothing! OK, actually I would kind of like to be able to accept myself as I am, but this is a daily struggle.

Obstacles: Not insurmountable!

Time Management: Helps me fit ALL of the things I value into my week – work, cleaning, friends, exercise, food, and relaxation. All of these things need to be balanced, because when one gets out of balance, I get out of balance.

Beyond Comfort: Right now, everything in this journey is beyond comfort.

Stress Management: Long hot baths and good music provide my favorite kind of stress relief.

Rewards: I don’t really utilize rewards much.

    Depending on what you are talking about comfort can be overrated, I find some of the most fun is outside my comfort zone (like your skiing picture). And, time management can also be enhanced by just simplifying some. As far as visualizing/knowing where you are going - it can be as simple as having a goal of being ready and able to take on any adventure that might come your way. Most of this stuff is about perspective.

    Good blog - I hope 2014 is all you want it to be.

    This journey often takes me out of my comfort zone, just when I get into a routine it seems some part of it stops working and I need to change something up. I don't like change. That is where the support of team members comes in handy for me. They act as a sounding board for new ideas and just all around help me through changes to my journey. emoticon together.

    Hi Liz, Maize Mountaineers are here all together to work on our healthy lifestyles one day at a time. Don't be overwhelmed, pick one area you want to work on and go from there. Think about the rewards you can reap from a healthy lifestyle like increased stamina, going up a flight of stairs without being winded, fitting into some item of clothing, moving around more easily.
