Not Having a Good Day!

Went to see my dr today as I am not feeling well and I needed to get my 3 month blood work done for my A1C and cholesterol. Found out today that I can no longer go to my dr because they have team up with Methodist Health Care and they don't accept our insurance. REALLY??????? I have been going to them for over 15 yrs and I know them and trust them and now I have to find a new dr!! Not a happy camper right now. I don't feel well and now I am bummed out over this and I feel even worse. Trying not to let it get me down too bad as I plan on staying on track and I have so far today. Oh well, life goes on and hopefully I will be able to find a dr that is good. emoticon

    Our dr gave me his cell phone number and I could call him any time night or day if something happened to my husband or I .. He was always there for us. He roomed with our SIL that we lost 4 yrs ago at the age of 31 so we are connected in more ways than one. He is also a minister and he is one of those drs who really cares about his patients. I am sure the good Lord will lead us to another one or our dr will tell us of one.

    I had a similar thing happen to me too a few years back. I was devastated. And it was really hard to find a doctor taking new patients at that time. I figured I was doomed. I was complaining to my pharmacist about this predicament and she mentioned a doctor she knew of who had just started up shop and was taking new patients. I didn't care what the doctor was like as long as I had one, so off I went. I even transferred my file to her before we met. Well, she turned out to be the best one I've ever had. Now fingers crossed I don't lose her too and fingers crossed you find one who you can trust and feel comfy with.

    Sorry about losing your Dr. I totally understand my long time Dr. decided to go concierge and accept no insurance. All he wanted was a $2000 up front fee from each patient on top of what we pay for insurance which we would still need. Since I had to get a new Dr. I picked one a good deal younger than myself so that hopefully she will be my Dr until I have no more need for a Dr. It took 2 tries but I am happy with her. Ask your friends who they go to and hopefully you will be as pleased with your new Dr as you were with your old one.

    I am so sorry they didn't inform you so you could have been able to hunt for a new doctor without the stress that they caused. Review the list of doctors that your health plan will accept. I looked on line for mine, and then asked for a question and answer time over the phone. The doctor I picked was the one who took the time to call me back and answered my concerns. Keep up your spirit and you will find the doctor who will listen and care.

    Sorry bout having to change doctors. I hope you find another good one that you feel comfortable with. I myself have just had to find a doctor so I know the hassle of finding a new one. Good luck.

    too bad they didn't tell you about their change so you might have been able to make adjustments, or find a new doctor with their help before your checkup.
