Time to face the music

Friday, March 28, 2014

Yep, I'm a champion at being in denial emoticon The thing is when I look in the mirror I don't really see a fat person and I guess that is good, but.....when I see a picture (especially the full body ones), I cringe. To help me face the music I have changed my ticker from pounds lost to actual weight. This may not be necessary for everyone but when I see those numbers I am more in touch with what I have to do. It's painful to see, but it will be so joyous to watch that turtle ease on down the road emoticon I'm confident this transition from a loooong winter to spring will be the catalyst I need to get in gear.

Happy Friday!!

That is always how I have my ticker and I'm happy to say it is closer to goal. Better to deal with the reality. Best of luck to you!

I have the same problem, I see myself thinner too! when I go into other peoples homes and the mirrors are bright i am also shocked at my wrinkles, who knew? I see pics and think "'hey wait a minute, I looked great and slim that day, what happened" then I look at everyone else in the pic to see if they look heavier, they don't! hummm I think, I must look like that. Wow! It's not only embarrasing, but oh so frustrating. Yes, putting your # on your wt tracker is a great idea!

Susan, that is wonderful to take a proactive step that will help guide and motivate you!
Your comments about not seeing yourself as fat is exactly my problem, too. Anorexic friends always talk about body dysmorphia, in which they always see themselves as their formerly fat self. Like you, I have always had the opposite problem, thinking I'm not as overweight as I really am. Photos and (gasp!) videos, make me feel like giving up.

Together, we can make a difference in our lives!
