Yesterday, I decided to take a long walk for exercise. I have been doing the same exercise over and over at the gym (because I love it), but I could feel that my body needed something else.
The weather was gorgeous, so I took a bus out of town and walked back. I got off the bus at the beach.
I headed inland, and came across a building that I always find intriguing.
Every spring, swans migrate through our area on their way to Siberia. I wondered if any were around, so I headed down the long road to the lake/marsh they like. The sidewalk had some snowy patches. I was entertained (although I've lived here for almost 5 years, my Southern side is always amazed by snow).
I got to the marsh, and was pleasantly surprised.
I tried to get as close as I safely could, but then this swan seemed like he might be stalking me.
Large birds scare me, so I snapped a few more pics and tried to sneak away.
Then, I headed for a high road (the Milk Road) that runs back to town and has beautiful views. It also had a big hill, the effects from which I am feeling today.
Hmmm, should I get on or keep walking? Let's keep walking!
To the right was the sea.
To the left was the western side of the lake with the swans. It's iced over, but melty. I don't think I'd ever seen that before.
When I got back to town, I was exhausted, but also refreshed. It was so nice to spend time outdoors in the sunshine even though it was cold.
