Happy Easter from Japan

Sunday, April 20, 2014

A friend and I made Easter dinner after church. We made the traditional Easter favorite, tofu. Lol. It was surprisingly good! It was baked with a citrus sauce. For sides, we had kinpira gobo (burdock root and carrot cut thinly - we bought it), a simple onion soup, mini tomatoes, and 100 calorie croissants. It was a fun dinner, though not very traditional.

Hi there, I would love a good recipe for making Tofu. If possible could you send this recipe for tofu to me? I am part of your Lodge, "BNT's"

It's funny, I just noticed the croissant at first! We had croissants, too. =)

I am not a fan of tofu but I will admit it looks delicious!

I first tasted gobo at a healthy restaurant here. It was one of the sides on their set-burdock root with ume boshi. I then had gobo soup at what we affectionately call the "hippie" restaurant. They say that it is good for your stomach. My friend just gave me 3 gobo tea bags. She said to make my tea-1 pot for the tea bag, then to sprinkle the contents of the bag on my rice in the cooker and eat it.
