Moving out of my comfort zone

Monday, May 05, 2014

I have come to a cross-roads...finally get fit...or stay fat. I don't want to stay round and a size 16. It is not how I want to proceed with my life.

I decided to take action for myself and move out of my comfort zone this round. I wanted to see what I could do with something different. Not being comfortable is frankly, uncomfortable and I don't like it. I have to proceed ahead or fail and I won't do that.

This round, BLC 25, is the cross-roads. I can't help others until I can help myself.

So, my goals are simple:

1) Complete this round and surprise myself.

2) Complete the 12 week exercise streak

3) Log my food every day and learn to make better choices

4) Not be afraid of ST. I won't get hurt if I do it slowly and build up. Not doing it at all isn't helping me.

5) Be honest with myself, have no excuses and do my best.

I took the BLC fitness test. Based on that test, I have no fitness...I am basically at the very beginning but I want to be strong...and I will be strong.

I am in the refiners fire and will emerge a better safe. I want to become the Christie I always wanted to be.

Don't be fearful of that fire. HE is your biggest cheerleader for your obedience in responding to His call to action. My first SP fitness test 2 years ago had 3 pushups, 15 crunches, and I couldn't complete the 3 min step test. We all have to start somewhere. Keep up the ST and regular fun cardio and you will see health improvement in every area.

We all have to make a start some where. My cross-road occurred in January when I decided that at 60 years of age I wanted to run in my first 5K Color Fun Run. I have to admit that I was insecure about my chances of succeeding when I first came up with this idea but as I have put in the effort each week to train a bit more at running longer and further I am now beginning to believe I may just be able to succeed at completing this challenge that I have set up for myself. You never know what you are capable of until you make a commitment to something that challenges your comfort zone and put the effort in that is required for success. I like #5 on your list since I think it's what trip us up a lot. We feel we hit a wall and then the excuses to justify our difficulties start sidetracking our progress. Good luck with your self improvement journey and make your new lifestyle an adventure that you will enjoy living.

emoticon emoticon amd emoticon You are at a good place with a great attitude to succeed. A lot of the times, we know what we need to do and being in a comfort zone is someplace we need to move out of as we never know what we can do unless we try! emoticon Step out on faith and you'll be surprised on what you're capable of being and doing! emoticon This could be the start of something bigger than yourself, as we all have to start from some place! emoticon emoticon
