I cut the cord....

I cut the cord on Cable TV. My provider went digital and we are required to get the digital cable box to receive service. Two boxes per household (we have 3 TV's) that are free for 12 months. After that we will have additional charges. The 3rd box we would get to pay for right away.
When I called to officially cancel my service they really tried hard to convince me to stay, but when your mind is made up you "stick to your guns". We will lose our free newpaper, but I can read it online. Have the time I have to call the newspaper and let them know that our early am delivery wasn't received.
We (or should I say I) have been checking out other free or low cost ways to watch TV. We have two "smart" TV's already that I can hook up to a Roku box. I also have a Blu-ray player. Just purchased an HDMI cable that I can attach to my laptop and plug into the TV.
We have access to Netflix, Hulu-Plus and Amazon Prime also. You'd think that would be enough. I have bookmarked my favorite programs that I can watch online thru the major networks. The only once that I can't watch full episodes is "Live with Kelly and Michael". They have the host chat online only not the full episode.
Aereo is a service available in large cities, ours is one. Cost is $8 per month and has a cloud DVR with 20 hours of storage. Seems like a good fit and it has a month free service to try it out.
If anyone has any experience with online watching/services, please let me know the good, bad and ugly.
