Day 58 of exercise in 2014 (not a streak)
Walking: 2 mph (30 minutes per mile) 13 minutes 63 calories burned

My blood glucose was 161 tonight 1 1/2 hours after supper. It hasn't been below 200 until today. I purchased test strips and lancets today, they were $154.28 for 100 test strips and 100 lancets.

We went walking after I tested, so it had no bearing on the blood glucose reading.

I am so happy about this! My supper was a lean hamburger patty that weighed 2.9 ounces, a teaspoon of yellow mustard, 2.25 cups of steamed cauliflower and .25 cup of unsalted cashews with water to drink and a Metformin tablet . I didn't salt anything and am trying to break that habit along with lowering my blood glucose.

Oh, if only I don't have to take insulin shots. At the cost of testing supplies, I can't imagine the cost with insulin shots.

My late husband was insulin resistant, so he took more units than most people. And yes, it was costly! Congrats on the lower numbers! Let's pray it continues!

Glad your sugars are coming down. Did you check w/the pharmacist for any assistance for the supplies? Lots of the pharmaceutical companies have programs you can enroll in if eligible. Worthwhile checking out.

HUGS and keep up the good work.

I cannot believe how expensive testing supplies have gotten. Doesn't insurance help cover them for you? Back over 25 yrs ago we paid $10 for the test strips and the lancets were only $5. You know their cost hasn't gone up that much, they are getting rich on the backs of folks who have to have these supplies. Even insulin, it was $1 a bottle and now I believe it is $20 or more for my granddaughter.
Will continue to pray that the numbers continue to fall.
