Page 417 - 419 of the Big Book, A.A. World Series,1939, " Acceptance Is The Key", loosely interpreted states that whenever anything is wrong out there, it is wrong right here. Why I chose to think of that as my marriage, my world, crumbles around me. I hurt, but I keep eating healthy thanks to my daughter, keep meditating, keep reading spiritual writings, keep exercising, keep going one day at a time, thanks to God, my Lord Jesus Christ.

When I was a small child I would get beatings administered by my Mother that hurt so bad I could not cry. That's the way I feel today. I started to cry as the pain of it all takes my breath away and I can't. But for today God loves me, my family loves me and I love myself. And for today that is enough.

What a powerful blog. To keep eating healthy in spite of hurt and chaos in your life. You cherish your daughter and are being a wonderful role model. What great decisions. I love The Big Book and AA. and of course our Higher Power!

And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation – some fact of my life – unacceptable to me and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God’s world by mistake. (The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 417)

Thanks for stopping by my page, I was wondering where you are, you are in my prayers. I was in an abusive marriage with my children's father and I left him after 3 years. 10 years later in my third marriage of 9 yrs he was emotionally abusive and in year 8 he hit me and that was it for me. We were divorced in a year.

I love that acceptance prayer in the big book. I have it on book marks and carry it with me all the time. Take care, remember if God brought you you to it, he'll bring you through it. emoticon

Becky, you know I am here for you as well as our Lord. You will make it through this hard time, I know you will and you will come out stronger than ever. Please remain strong and fight, my dear friend. You know how to reach me if you need to vent.

I was in an abusive marriage for 28 years. I knew God could work with us if we let Him. He just wanted out and finally took it. I have been rebuilding my life since 1999, then had a serious stroke in summer 2008. Diabetes was part of it, as was high blood pressure. Both are in good shape at this time, thank you, Jesus! I too am working to become a healthy person emotionally as well as physically.

I once heard that our emotional issues, if unaddressed, can cause our physical issues. That's the idea I'm going on. I'll be praying for you too, Becky.
