In a Dilemma

A year ago in July I injured my Achilles. I was in a boot for 6 weeks and wasn't able to exercise or run. I don't have insurance, so we didn't have the money for me to go to the follow up appointment. Was able to talk with them over the phone, so I started out slow getting back into my exercise routine. I hadn't bought new running shoes in about 2 years, I did buy new workout/walking shoes to start. Last weekend my friends and I went to Red Coyote and bought new running shoes...even ran on their treadmill, so they could gage my form. That was pretty cool to watch. My form is good. My right foot turns in just slightly. The lady said it could be doing that because of my Achilles issues. Overall I had good running form. We are training for a 10K in October, with every increased mile my Achilles on both feet are pretty sore during and afterwards and especially in the morning. I quit wearing flip flop when I first injured them, so when I'm wearing tennis shoes I walk good. I can tolerate the discomfort. Walking bare footed too often there's a lot more discomfort. I've been using my tiger roller and I do wear compression socks when I run. I know I should go back to the doctor and that's my dilemma. I don't want to be in pain anymore, but I don't want to stop running either. My pain is at the heals only. My new shoes feel GREAT!! No pain in my left foot while running, dull pain in my right foot though. My head keeps telling me ummm.... wait a week and see what happens with the pain. I've completed 5.5 miles in the new shoes. More then likely I will sideline myself and make an appointment on Monday.
