Happy Friday!

Kids were up and going on their piano and school work today. I gave them the incentive of a walk to a playground at some distance if they could finish by noon, which they did with time to spare. It was warm and windy and I got my 32 minute jog/walk in for my 8-week train for a 5K program. While we were at the park (we took a light lunch), it turned cold and windy.

I feel so happy about being outdoors today. We saw Milkweed seed pods (learned about them yesterday at homeschool co-op) and cattail puff fuzz (the kids had read about that). There was a prairie trail around the playground we went to, so we walked that. We discovered a short cut between the playground and our route home, which cuts off our need to cross a very busy street (YEAH!). Since we take that route a couple of times a month in the summer to visit the farmer's market, it seems like a really big and positive discovery.

This is the first time in DAYS I might be close to hitting 10,000 steps. That feels really great!

I'm losing weight, even if I'm not hitting 10,000 steps a day, perhaps because so many of my steps are with a baby on my front.
