Tis the season.....yeah, whatever

So many years of working holidays & weekends, they have all just become another day. Thanksgiving is a day that most of us, in my opinion, eat leftovers for the 'big meal' because everyone had prepped things a day or two earlier. It is a day with way more food than anyone of us needs. The highlight: NFL football. Christmas wears out its welcome since it keeps making it's appearance earlier and earlier every year. I groan at the sight of Christmas items in September and come to dislike Christmas music long before Christmas Eve.

Thanksgiving is lost in the shuffle of Christmas & Halloween and then back to Christmas. I am trying to be more thankful for the people in my life and the gifts I have been given, some days it is more difficult, it is easier to see the unhappiness and forget about the good things my life.

Maybe it is time to turn over a new leaf and dig out the Christmas tree that hasn't been put up in probably 8 years. Life got too busy to take the time and there is just no space for it anymore. My daughter doesn't care if the tree is up, she is only home for a day or two during the holidays. It is just easier to leave the house looking the way it does the rest of the year and not clutter it up for a few weeks. I may put Christmas lights up outside, it there is time and the weather permits. They help to make it seem not so horrible to come home from work at 5pm and it is dark outside already.

Even though I have turned into somewhat of a Grinch or Scrooge, I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season.
