How I plan to avoid the Eating Frenzy

Well, here it is, two days before Thanksgiving. I have my shopping list ready and plan on walking out the door in a couple of hours to complete my grocery shopping. My list consist of most of the usual things that I buy each week. I've planned ahead, Tom is in the fridge just chillin, the potatoes are hanging out in the pantry waiting to be peeled, no stuffing/dressing (the family is not a fan), and the rest of the sides will be made ahead: Wild rice salad, Cranberry relish, Onion rolls. Of course there will be a few other things as well. We will have quite a spread . . . Oh, I didn't mention desserts, did I? Nothing chocolate will be on the menu. Pineapple Upside down cake (hubby's birthday was Sunday and he has been gone since last Friday) Dutch apple pie and my DIL will be bringing a pie too. We have to eat early since one of my sons will be going to work in the afternoon, so that doesn't leave much time to set out snacks for munching before the big dinner.

Ok, so there is a skeleton of our menu, now to the meat of how I will avoid overeating. First of all No Chocolate! That's says a lot right there! LOL!!! Second, I'm not a big fan of Turkey, Mashed potatoes and gravy. I can sample the turkey and skip the mashed potatoes and gravy. However, I do like the Wild rice salad, so I will have a normal serving of that. Our veggies will be peas and steamed broccoli. I will eat the broccoli. I will have a roll with butter, Yummy!!! but only one. So the dinner part isn't looking so bad, I don't like pine apple upside down cake, but I do like Dutch apple pie . . . so I will indulge in a small piece of that. Over all, It shouldn't be a horrible day. I will probably begin the day with a bowl of fruit and cereal with almond milk. Now, will see what REALLY happens on Thursday . . . I'm probably just looking at this through rose colored glasses!!! LOL!!!
