The facts about good health!

There are so many myths out there when it comes to eating healthy and exercise. There is so much hype about perfection and having to look a certain way! For years, I let that control my thoughts about how I felt when I would look in the mirror! Being on Spark People for the last five years has really taught me a lot about what is truth and what is fiction! It has taught me to do what works best for me and not what works for everyone else!

The facts about exercise:
1.) I feel that it's better on the days you don't feel like workout out, to get in at least 10 minutes through out the day because that is better then nothing!
2.) I feel you need to combine cardiovascular and strength training if you want to be in the best shape of your life!
3.) I feel that doing at least 40 minutes of cardiovascular is the best because it really gets your heart rate up and that is the amount of time it takes me to really burn any real amount of calories!
4.) I feel you need to mix up your workouts other wise you will get bored fast!

The facts about eating right:
1.) I feel it's always been about portion sizes and watching what is on the label. Making sure you only eat what is really considered one serving at each meal!
2.) I feel you need to have a balance when it comes to carbohydrates, fats, proteins and calories! I feel that too much of anything is not good for you!
3.) I feel that you should always drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruits and vegetables!
4.) I feel it's ok to splurge once in a while as long as you get back on track right away otherwise you defeat the whole reason you started this in the first place!
