January goal met and more

I met my goal of losing 5 pounds in January. My beginning weight was 282 and my goal at the end of the month was 277. This morning I weighed 259. I lost 23 pounds in January and 12 from last year, so I am a total of 35 pounds down from my heaviest weight of 294.
I am so excited but this is when I have to be so careful because I lose weight fast it is easy for me to make compromises and undo all of my success. So my February goal is to lose 5 pounds.
Today is my 28th day without sodas. I am craving a lot less because of no sodas. I was drinking the caffeine free diet sodas. I believe the artifical sweetners were increasing my cravings.
I have also cut way back on bread and sugar. I have not cut them out completely but about 85 to 90 percent less.
I am working out at least 3 to 5 times a week.
So, my goal for February is to weigh 254. And I am determined not to be discouraged if I only lose 5 pounds. I cannot and should not expect to lose 23 pounds again in a month.
