Spring Cleaning - the house and my body- both temples, Amen

The sun is shining outside, even though the temps are colder than we like. It has been a long stretch of cold weather this February...so far anyway. It sounds like we may have one nicer day (if you call 28 degrees nicer) this next week before the temp goes down to zero again. But, I remind myself that God is in control and we must need this cold weather, or He wouldn't send it. So, I praise and glorify Him for the cold. :)

I am excited because the scale showed that I lost another 2#. (It was actually yesterday, but I forgot to record it, so I am doing that today...just a little cheat.) Of course today my weight was up 2# again and that is probably because of the large serving of broiled fish I had last night and the huge baked potato with sour cream, of course. And also I had a little extra salt at lunch time yesterday, so all of that makes a difference in this mornings weight. And yes, I do weigh every day because I see the progress or not that I make each day and it encourages me either to keep it up or to work a little harder at it.

The good news is that my lowest weight yesterday replaced by the 2# that the scale shows today is a new variance. Whereas the scale today used to be my lower weight and it would bounce up a pound or two or three even when I had a particularly salty day the day before or whatever. I am pleased that my higher weight today was yesteryears (yesterweeks?) lower weight and I have a new lower weight range to work on. That is a Praise the Lord in my book.

Today I am being very good - I am below my suggested calories for my breakfast and lunch, but that is because I know we will be eating out later...have to save some room for more calories for dinner. It is well worth it, because we will be seeing our daughter and her family. Our eight year old granddaughter is in a play - Peter Pan - and she is one of the pirates. Its funny because the persona she displays is of a princess and an angel with bent halo, but an angel anyway. It doesn't always come off that way because sometimes the pirate shows through...like when she fights with her older brother or some of her cousins. lol We are looking forward to seeing her and the family this afternoon and evening.

My wonderful husband is helping me do some spring cleaning. Thursday he took down the living room curtains and I washed and dried them and he helped me put them back up again. The windows really need washing, but just can't do it yet...it's so cold outside. So, when we have that one warm day next week...guess that I will be doing. I also took all the pics off the hallway walls and together we scrubbed the walls. Yesterday I got the pcs hung up again. One wall is of my grandkids and I love it! I have some that my mother, God rest her soul, embroidered and one that my uncle embroidered also. So grateful to have these memories of two who I love dearly and who are now with the Lord. On Thursday I also dusted all of the entertainment center and in our house, that is a big project because the entertainment center covers the whole wall minus the hallway doorway. So many knickknacks to be cleaned and rearranged. But, so many memories also, of past times and family members who have passed, etc. It is fun to do that and I really love the end product....a clean and well arranged entertainment center again.

It just dawned on me....my house is the temple for our family and the love we share, and my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I am working on getting them both in line again. Praise the Lord for that thought. I give up all of the work in both to You, Lord. It all belongs to You anyway, and I am just Your caretaker for both. Please help me to care for both in a way that is pleasing and good for You and in a way that brings You glory and honor, O Lord, My God. In Jesus Name, Amen
