I have it all....now I"m depressed again....

Monday, March 23, 2015

Hi all. Got the first workout of the year done yesterday. It's March,, how sad is that?

I need a severe , severe kick in the ass, slap in the head, cosmic head check, or whatever you can spare.

Have managed somehow to sink into depression....AGAIN...even though we are living in paradise (Care giver stress/burn out).

Found a local Dr. finally, who is appalled at all the meds I am on, many of which I don't take but like to have onhand. But when I got here I was on 2 antidepressants and cut back to one. Now I want my 2nd one back but this new Dr. is giving me some serious concerns about potential interations and while she realizes I am in a rough situ at moment, that after it is all said adn done, and I have my life back, she doesnt' want me to have to deal with a kidney or liver disease down the line. Gee, neither do I? But damn, I am in a state here , with the nearly always crying, etc. I think I better take my chances and readd my Wellbutruin with the Celexa. Dr. suggested just doubling celexa but I feel worse then ever.

Anyone else battling depression? Of all times in life I have no reason to be depressed now. This move to a beautiful home in Hawaii, great husband, no big worries, other then daily care of mom....maybe just the cumliative effect of the move and life changes? Anyway...anyone else on 2 antidepressants?

Have you tried Eastern medicine? I took antidepressants and they seemed to make me feel worse....and I was hungry all the time. Have you considered having your hormone levels looked at? I've been on bio hormones and I feel fabulous and haven't had a migraine in a year. It's very difficult being a caregiver no matter where you live. I hope that you are back to normal soon. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have friends who have been dealing with depression and meds and finding a balance. It takes a while, keep working with the dr.

For me, vitamin B6 is enough to deal with any depression or overly emotional times (as in PMS). But, well, we're all individuals and we just do what we need to do. (My sister was on Prozac for years, not sure what she's on now.)

And your situation doesn't really have much to do with depression if it's a chemical thing - so don't beat yourself up over it. Just the way your body works.

    So hang in there!

Very difficult to be a caregiver. I hope you are able to get away a bit to have some time for yourself. It doesn't matter where you are, depression is a tough deal, even in Hawaii. Maybe yoga or mind/ body exercises ??? Meditation ??? worth a look .
