Maintenance or reset my goal....

Today I had a surprise on my scale. I have been hovering just above my goal for a few weeks and I have been mentally preparing for maintenance. Today. to my surprise, the scale said 1/2 pound under goal. The goal was rather conservative, close tot he top of my "healthy" BMI range, but with enough room to fluctuate a few pounds and still stay under "overweight". Now, I have to decide, if this is OK, or if I really want to go a bit lower, about 5 more pounds. Still in the upper half of "healthy". I think I do, but maybe take it slow.

Right now I am afraid of maintenance. I have read articles about how your body sets a weight and wants to maintain it, usually higher than where you are after loosing the weight, somewhere closer to where you started out. This is where I have failed before. Letting my guard down and my body tricking me back to my old weight. If I decide this weight is good, or another 5 pounds more, I will have to face maintenance soon and convince my body that this is its new future.
