1. Shrewd or spirited initiative and resourcefulness.
2. Courage, spunk, guts.
I love the word ‘gumption’ because it’s so old fashioned and so forlorn and so out of style it looks as if it needs a friend and isn’t likely to reject anyone who comes along. I like it also because it describes exactly what happens to someone who connects with Quality. He gets filled with gumption.
A person filled with gumption doesn’t sit around worrying and stewing about things. He’s at the front of the train of his own consciousness, watching to see what’s up the track and meeting it when it comes….full speed ahead, Choo- Choo! That’s gumption.
If you’re going to lose weight, an ample supply of gumption is the first and most important tool. If you haven’t got that, you might as well gather up your Fitbit, your food log, your workout plan, and your tennis shoes and put them away, because they won’t do you any good. Without gumption, your giddy-up is gone…expired…departed. Woo-girl! What???
Yep, that’s right! There’s no guff about it. Without the consumption of gumption your goals can not be reached. You have to be motivated. You have to be inspired. You have to have gumption!
Where do you get your gumption? Some people are lucky enough to be born with it. They are determined the day they pop out of the womb, ready and rearing to go. Others develop it. They slowly and steadily learn it over the course of there lives. Some are unfortunately forced into it because of circumstances. They have no choice but to do it or else. And some get it from others. They need to depend on others to give it to them because they don’t have it themselves.
Me? I have probably developed it over the years, at times being forced into it because of circumstances. And sometimes, I may not have any for myself, but seem to find it to give to others. I know…..explain that one.
What about you?
