Stay Curious
Wednesday, May 20, 2015
Recently I have heard two "women of a certain age", Candice Bergen and Jane Fonda, separately express the same thing that has kept them feeling young and invigorated as they age. They both said "Stay Curious"!
I'm approaching a birthday in August, my 63rd, and have always subscribed to the notion that each year is a blessing and that I'm fortunate to wake up each day alive and breathing. The words "stay curious" have continued to circle in my mind because they encompass every aspect of my life. Although I'm a seeker and love staying open minded, the ones who most keep me feeling young and curious are my grand kids.
Last week we had more unexpected rain in Southern California. It was heavenly, but the awe and wonder in my grand kids' eyes, who have seen very little rain in their short lives, gave me a new pair of glasses. They had so many questions........they were so CURIOUS! My grandson asked me to take him outside to touch it. Of course I did. But, not to exaggerate, it almost felt like feeling rain for the first time!
I snapped a picture of them gazing outside during the "storm" (I hear you laughing, people in other parts of the globe).
Let's all remain curious and, of course, courageous!
Thank you Spark friends, as always, for your support!
