Retired now, no excuses

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Now that I am officially retired after 31 years of teaching, I am looking forward to having more time for healthy eating and exercise. While teaching, I was up at 5:45, left at 6:30, ate breakfast during the 30 minute commute and arrived at school at 7 a.m. I am looking forward to a breakfast sitting down at home. I always tried to pack a healthy lunch while working, but often ended up at the drive thru. By the time the school day and commute home were done, I was too tired to exercise. Dinner was often what was convenient.

I joined the Y and went to exercise class on Monday. Yesterday, I began tracking my food again. I so happy to finally have time to concentrate on improving my health and fitness. No excuses now!
