Week 6 Reflection

Thursday, June 25, 2015

I had a nice loss this week which surprised me! We had a four day camping trip and I didn't exercise as much as I usually do on those days. My eating was not bad (except for lots of beer and too many tortilla chips) so I'm sure that helped. It is definitely a spirit lifter when the scale shows a drop! And a non-scale victory: two pairs of shorts I recently bought (they were tight when I tried them on the first time) fit loosely this weekend! I was very happy about that.

I am still struggling to get ST in at least 3 days per week. I have no excuses, I just don't make time for it. I need to get better about planning my workouts so I don't have to think about 'what will I do today'. I know I do better if I write up a weekly plan beforehand and follow it day by day. The heat wave we've been having isn't helping though...I just will not walk after work if it's between 80 and 90 degrees! I don't 'do' hot! But I'm countering that by trying to get in more early workouts. Weather will not be an excuse!

Overall, I am getting better at letting things go...if I don't get my workout in, if I slip up with my eating, if I just need a break, that is OKAY! I used to beat myself up about not getting everything done, or burn myself out by trying to fit it all in, but I don't do that anymore. Each night I look over what I have accomplished and still vow to be better the next day. It seems to be working. I know it is all about balance.

Looking forward to being more active on the team this week since I don't have a trip planned. And I plan to rock this weekend's challenge. I'm going to shoot for a perfect score!
