bike ride

Sunday, July 12, 2015

I love to ride the bicycle. I rode one while in St Augustine every day(beach bike ). I have not ridden my mountain bike in over a year. I was wondering why since I do love it so much. So I had to face some of my obstacles and over come them.
1. I am too fat to ride a bike I will look silly.
2. It is too hot out there.
3. My little dog will want to come too and I will hurt her feelings if I leave her here and if I take her she might get hurt.
4. I am afraid I might get hurt. Bad neighbor dogs, cars, freaks also I hurt my back really bad one time on the bike and yes I did wreck that time. etc etc....

So I said I am getting on that bike. I got it ready , got my water, got on it warmed up a bit around the drive way parking area at the top and off I go down the driveway which is about a 45 degree incline.. I exaggerate some but is pretty steep. probably 25 degrees. I made it safely down with my dog right behind me. Dear me there is the other one too ...she is old and does not usually want to come.... but away we all 3 went. I rode up and down the hills a couple of time and off I go towards the river and lost the dogs. I turned around to find them and saw them going back up the driveway.

I really enjoyed myself it was 40 minutes of extreme for me physical workout and joy all mixed up. If any of you don't know the difference. Beach biking and mountain biking is totally different. Push push push up the hills and wheeee down them.

emoticon Way to go. I am not much of a bike rider never have been but my sister was talked into doing 5k's with me so now she is trying to convince me that bike riding is fun. So I told her if she could find me a comfortable seat I would try this. But you go girl cuz it doesn't matter what others think what matters is how good you feel doing something you like to do.

Wow, good for you! My thighs won't push push push up any hills right now. ..maybe someday, though. I have a bike and your description brought back some good memories of riding when I was younger.

Good for you! I just sold my bike...we moved a year ago and the street we're on now isn't a good one for an over-70 out of shape person who was deathly afraid of the 12 or 20 speed (whatever it was) bike in the first place. Biking is great exercise and such a sense of freedom. Give me a flat street or path, a single speed bike and my helmet and off I'll go!! emoticon
