I'm sure that because of the fanciness of this word, "intentionality" - that I found it in a book somewhere, and I wrote a note about it. In one of my journals (which I'm revisiting these days) - I wrote the following:
"Nothing changes without "attention" and "intention." Both are essential to change. One without the other is good - but insufficient for change."
"Intentionality" indicates purposefulness in one's actions. When one is clear about intention and purpose, other things seem to fall into place.
Being "intentional" - requires that I set my sights on a particular outcome. It sets many things in motion.
My personal goal is to lose over 130 pounds (123 to be exact ... I'm 7lbs down - YAAAAAYYYY!)
If I am focused and determined; committed to reaching the goal -- then my "intentionality" will lead me to change certain behaviors and habits. I think this is profound.
I also wrote:
1. Be selective about food purchases for my home
2. Read about healthy foods and their nutritional value
3. Cut of foods that will hinder me from reaching my goal
4. Cook healthier foods
5. Develop an exercise program that I can maintain long after I reach my desired goal
My prayer is that I will always have the strength to move forward; and that my determination and focused attention, will increase my chances of reaching my fitness goals.
7lbs down ... I'M PRESSING FORWARD ; )
Keep Sparking, Everyone!!!
