Today was one of those "Ah Ha" days when I actually could feel and see the progress I've made over the last month. I am down 6 lbs. and, while that may not seem like much, on my 5'0" frame, it means a whole size smaller. It also means not feeling bloated and sluggish, and actually feeling more comfortable in your own skin!
I attribute any success in my life to my Lord, Jesus, Christ and, in this case, His amazing grace that showed me I needed to be kinder to myself; go easier on myself; to quit beating myself up so much; and, to love myself as much as He loves me. So, now, instead of always focusing on what I'm not doing right, I'm focusing on what I am doing right, and that makes me want to do even more

.
Another thing I had to do was to take a good, hard look at the things I do that keep me stuck. One of my biggest bug-a-boos has always been evening eating. In the past, I'd try to totally cut out anything after dinner and I always got the same results: I'd go without for a few days, and then go totally over the edge and eat everything in sight. I've been doing this for years! Time to stop the insanity. I like an evening snack - so why not have an evening snack. How about I just have one evening snack instead of four, and have a healthier snack - maybe a juice bar and/or a piece of fruit instead of chips or other junk food? Now, I plan these snacks in my tracker and stay in my calorie range? Wow, what a concept - planning, enjoying and changing my lifestyle in a way that satisfies me and makes it possible for me to stick with my plan

.
Today I feel good - I feel content - I feel happy! I just joined a new team that addresses the evening eating issue, and I'm looking forward to learning how other people deal with this problem. I feel that I am finally going to reach my goals, and I'm no longer in a rush to get there.
I can say without a doubt that Spark People is the absolute best place to be if you want to get fit and healthy. The nutrition tracker is the best I've used - and the easiest to use. The articles are super, and the caring and sharing among the members is amazing. Here is a place where people from all different locations, with all different cultural backgrounds and belief systems, come together and offer each other all the support and hugs anyone could ask for. I, for one, can't thank Spark Guy enough for making this all possible -
