Over eating

Monday, August 03, 2015

I did not stay in my calorie range this weekend. I did great on Saturday until it was time for the band picnic. It was at dinner time. I had 2 plates of crap. Then I took home some left overs and had 4 brownies and hot dogs. Why?

Sunday was the same. I ate a lot of hot dogs again. Plus had lasagna (a small portion) and 7 layer salad for lunch at my inlaws house.

I'm not going to get upset with myself for this. It happens to all of us. I'm back on track today and will finish out the week strong!

After all my starts and stops I've found that you can't 'punish' yourself for a few slip ups. The truth of the journey is that it is an ongoing thing. One meal isn't going to condemn you for life - as long as you make healthy choice the majority of the time you will be successful. Great attitude by deciding not to let it get you down.

I've really struggled this weekend too. Back on track today. The one thing I'm doing differently than I ever had in my life is working on black and white thinking. It's always been all or nothing for me, and now I am simply going to allow myself to be okay with unwise food choices here and there. I have to or I'll fail. I was at a 14 day streak, and yesterday I blew it. Immediately I thought, "Well, I blew it." I think the saying "The perfect is the enemy of the good" is starting to make since. Thank you for sharing your story. It helps me a lot. Rock on!!! :)

Weekends can be challenging for ALL of us. This is particularly hard in a social setting...Carbs can be addictive & our focus is different when sharing a social occasion then being mindful at home. Let it go & move forward. This week you are a HEALTHY STAR...tell yourself that!!!
