The Glass Remains Half Empty

Thursday, August 13, 2015

I want to thank everyone for the ongoing warmth and support.
Just knowing others care goes a very long way.

I was beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel when Medicare issues started.
This has caused more stress than can be imagined.
I am on more than one very expensive medication and cannot stop taking them.
Without insurance they would cost over $3,500 a month.
I simply don't have the funds.

Have been doing the necessary footwork to resolve this insurance problem.
It isn't going to happen over night.

This has caused depression and insomnia to continue.

Tomorrow is yet another stressful and busy day.
Working in the early morning and then driving to downtown Miami .
It is 60 -70 miles round trip with lots of traffic.
I will be there for an extended visit with a specialist to get the results of tests.

I plan on freezing bottles of water to keep hydrated.

All I can do is put one foot in front of the other and hope for the best.
Thanks for letting me complain.

I'm really thankful that you are hanging in there. We have Medicare for our oldest son, and yes, oh yes, I identify with the headaches. Like the saying goes, "Sometimes success means putting one foot in from of the other."

My Medicare insurance guy is coming over in a week or so to talk about prescription alternatives because they don't pay for the expensive stuff. A lot of getting them approved, I think, is with the doctor's office getting them to understand why you need them or they need to find something cheaper that works. There is also the option of calling the manufacturer and trying to get them to drop the price for you. They all have that option and frankly they wouldn't miss the profit.

Bless you for posting today. Come here even when you don't feel much like it, On those really bad days all you need to say is "I'm here"; on better ones vent about whatever you feel like.

Wrestling with health insurance is more of a national pastime than baseball. You have my deepest sympathy. Keep plugging away, and if you don't get satisfaction don't forget to bug your congresspeople's offices. They can often get things done lickety split that would take you all year!
