MY FIRST AQUA FITNESS CLASS (OH, THIS IS SO EASY - NOT!)

I decided to take my chances about the chlorinated water I posted in another blog; I've wanted to get back into swimming for a long time now. But what held me back, besides an unpredictable schedule, was how I looked in a swimsuit.
Well, I have to laugh at myself. When I tried on the suit last night, I looked in the mirror and didn't see awful. Honestly, aren't we our own worst critics? Not that I am entirely pleased, but that's why I'm stepping it up.
Today's is a pool at the jr. college that is shared by the City, and it was a wonderful experience. Of course, it felt so easy when I was exercising in the water. Now I'm home and ready to start my projects and, wow, do I feel the workout. Not really sore, just energized and feeling it a bit.
And, to my amazement, the instructors and lifeguards were bigger than me. Five out of seven there were not worried at all about how they looked. Which showed me that I've been ridiculous all this time. I intend to go back a time or two this week, and then try the water classes at the Y for comparison. I have a bit of a drive further for the Y, and gas is high here (over $4) so that's a factor compared to a short drive. Will weigh the pros and cons.
So glad I went today; it was important for me to get in a swimsuit again. Next will be the ocean. Wishing all a wonderful day.
