'Transform your whole self' - Who can resist that as an opening gambit?
Today's DVD is a 'bodywisdom media' production - 'Tai Chi for Beginners' (2010).
I bought this online when I realised that I simply couldn't fit a 90 minute class into my work schedule. I had gone along to a few beginners' classes but couldn't make the time slot consistently so was continually playing 'catch up'; standing at the back trying to work out where my arms and feet should be going on the forms I had missed.
Hopefully, this DVD will teach me good form and offer LOTS of repetition for someone whose motor memory ain't what it used to be!
There are 4 hours of 10-30 minute routines including a detailed introduction and demonstrations from Tai Chi Master Chris Pei of Yang style 24 posture form. The backdrop of woods and a beautiful lake is very calming and Mr. Pei appears to have infinite patience. Like it or not, you WILL do the various moves a considerable number of times to achieve perfect form before moving on.
For me, this is helpful as I am finally getting the hang of it. However, I can imagine some may find this a tad tedious.
Whether I will attain 'improved health and flexibility, reduced stress, increased energy flow, wellness and a relaxed mind' by the end of the DVD course is a tall ask....but this DVD is going to stay on my 'current' list. I'm prepared to give it a go.
