If I Can do it, Anyone Can. NOT TRUE

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

I often times hate the way I think, I'm so outside the box most of the time. I just read a statement someone made on a fitness message board I frequent. A woman had lost over 100 pounds and in talking to other members she said, "If I can do this, anyone can." OK, I have a problem with that statement. Why? Because it's not true. Just because one person has the want, stamina, dedication, desire and figures out what all it takes for them individually to lose the weight, does not mean everyone they are preaching to is ready, willing or able to do it and its setting folks up for failure, in my opinion. Why do that to others? Why not just share how you accomplished your weight loss and let people make informed choices? There is no single best way to lose weight. Like I said my thinking is so different than most, I'd rather encourage and cheer others on for the fact they are trying to get healthy. Not cause them to quit before really getting started because they read statements like that and immediately start comparing themselves to others. Losing a huge amount of weight is overwhelming enough without people making comments like that. Just sayin.

I think they are trying to motive people to find what works and stick with it. Everyone is different, exactly right. However, if you find what motivates and works for you, you can lose the weight. Anyone can; I think that is what they are saying.

Hmmm ... maybe they meant if they could find their way to their goals ... you can to.

Looks like you have found a way that works for you.
