Winter 5% Challenge Half Way Point

Tuesday, February 02, 2016

It is no surprise to me that I have really been enjoying the 5% challenge. I love the community and the accountability. At the half way point I've lost 3.5% of my body weight. In the fall challenge I lost just over 3.5% of my body weight for the entire challenge so I'm thrilled. It looks like I am on track to meet my goal.

While I am thrilled that the scale is moving in the right direction, I am much more pleased when I notice non-scale victories.
I've begun working through the Jessica Smith walk Strong program. I had never had any real focus on strength training before. I was surprised to find that I enjoy it.
I noticed that I've been feeling tall lately. I believe that I have improved my posture.
My bursts of running/jogging in my walks are becoming more frequent and longer lasting.
Stairs are for running.
I seek out opportunities to be active rather than sedentary.
Having treats in the house doesn't automatically mean that I need to eat them.
I tend to plan for treats adjusting my calories throughout the day to make room for them.
I've had to alter clothing to fit better.

I have a bit of a habit of losing focus once I make some progress on a goal. I have set up my next weight loss goal in hopes having a next plan will keep me focused as I complete this goal. I've also set a goal for myself to log 670 miles by the end of the year. While I enjoyed the Jessica Smith videos in January I wasn't as consistent as I would have liked. I am excited for the restart of February so I can complete a streak of a video a day for a month.

How about you? How are you doing with your goals?
