Weekly Plan - April 18-24

Well, last week was a train wreck. Again, I started to see progress, but then I had the BBQ at my boss's house, which is hard to explain why, but you're just gonna have to trust me, that it was an absolute "diet" amnesty day. It was a very emotional afternoon, saying good-bye to two dear women in my life, women who I've done life w/ for more than the 6 years that I've worked at the church (6 yrs in May), and as we celebrated, for the last time, the awesome team we once were. These have been very turbulent days at work, with the boss on sabbatical and big changes, including the departure of these two dear women, and how the trickle-down, well, trickles down to my desk (thankfully, just for the admin parts, not the ministry parts!). Sad, stressful, turbulent days, adding 10 hrs to my work week; thereby obliterating my after-school-granny plan for the kids, while somehow trying to make a part-time home for them including nutritious dinners (dinner's served at 5:00 when I get home minutes before 5); and trying to manage this health & weight loss thing. Yeah... I'm thinking of calling a counselor on Monday. I'm a wreck.

So, after seeing some progress early in the week, I know I'm gonna post a huge gain Monday, just b/c I didn't give a rip for the week following Wednesday, and my eating habits reflected that. I feel fatter. I feel like a slug. I spent the weekend pretty much comatose on the couch, only to get up Sunday afternoon to read on the deck (at least I got out of the house!) & then to go out w/ the hubs Sunday night. I texted my nutritionist that I'm really close to throwing in the towel. Something seems to have to give, and as always, my default "give" is me.

So, here's this week's plan. Let's see what happens, shall we??


MONDAY, APRIL 18 - Meatless Monday (Hubs works morning & night; can prep dinner)
*** Pro-D Day *** No school; no kids.
* Before Work: Bible time | Prep my lunch
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Veggie & Hummus Sandwich on Squirrelly Bread
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Dinner: Grilled Salmon | Rice (sweet potato for me) | Veggie | Salad
* * * I know it's "Meatless Monday," but I don't like fish(OK, I'm learning to not gag on salmon); and we don't have the kids; so we're gonna have salmon. So sue me.
* After Dinner: Clean-up | Prep meatloaf | Prep Burrito Bowls

TUESDAY, APRIL 19 - (Hubs works 10-2:45; home by 4)
* Before Work: Bible time | Make lunches | Finish prepping meatloaf
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Burrito Bowl
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Kids (after school): Wash lunch containers | Set table | Maybe put meatloaf in oven (if hubs isn't home?)
* Dinner: Salsa Meatloaf | Mashed potatoes (sweet potato for me) | Veggie | Salad
* After dinner: Clean up | Prep Thursday's crock pot

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20 (Hubs works morning; can prep dinner)
We may or may not have the grandkids for dinner - their dad works closing shift; other grandma may have them
* Before Work: Bible time | Make lunches
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Burrito Bowl
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Dinner: Chicken Pineapple Burgers (BBQ) (sans bun for me) | Veggie | Ensalada
* After dinner: Community Group (try not to have dessert!)

THURSDAY, APRIL 21 (Hubs works all day; can't help w/ meal prep)
* Before Work: Bible time | Make lunches | Prep crock pot
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Burrito Bowl
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Kids (after school): Wash containers | Set table
* Dinner: Slow Cooker Chicken Barley Stew
* After-dinner: Clean-up

FRIDAY, APRIL 22 - (Kids - Hot lunch: Hot Dogs) (hubs works afternoon-evening)
* Before Work: Bible time | Make lunch
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Burrito Bowl
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Dinner: Left-overs
* After-dinner: Take Daniel to Youth

SATURDAY, APRIL 23
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Veggie & Hummus Sandwich on Squirrelly Bread | Fruit
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Dinner: Out or Salmon or Left-overs
* To-Do's: Walk | Bible time | Meal Planning | Grocery Shopping | Prep next week

SUNDAY, APRIL 24
* Breakfast: PB&J Oats & Orange
* Lunch: Veggie & Hummus Sandwich on Squirrelly Bread | Fruit
* Snacks: Apple | Larabar
* Dinner: Out or Salmon or Left-overs
* To-Do's: Walk | Bible time | Meal Planning | Grocery Shopping | Prep next week

Sticker Chart Criteria (Daily Rewards)

[_] NO food in front of the computer, TV or any other device (except at work)

[_] Stay the course & feel good about the day


Weekly Reward Criteria:
[_] 7 stickers, based on above
[_] Move my body 3x/week (may or may not happen on scheduled days, due to contingencies) | 5x/week = greater reward

Weekly Rewards:
[_] Basic reward: Simple flowers
[_] Greater reward: Better flowers
[_] 4 weeks w/ flowers in a row: Pedicure!!

    Sorry that last week was a train wreck... but you know what? We are ALL human and you will only fail if you don't pick yourself up and just keep trying. You have your plan for the week... now all that is needed is implementation! Hugs, Rhonda
