Whole 30 Day 5 9/9/16

The dog woke me up at 4 a.m. again and I don't think I went back to sleep. Was hungry when I woke up but didn't eat until my normal time. I was hungry between meals today too, had some pumpkin seeds this morning and afternoon. I think I ate enough supper that I won't be hungry before bed. It was raining again this morning so no biking to work.

Meal 1: Leftovers - 2 chicken thighs, roasted cauliflower & carrots, apple
Meal 2: salad with tomato, cucumber, hard boiled eggs, Ranch and sunflower seeds, an orange
Meal 3: sirloin steak, potatoes and carrots, creamed cucumbers

Note: I've been eating some veggies and fruits that I don't normally eat on my LC plan. But Whole 30 is more Paleo based and these foods are allowed. After reading the Whole 30 book, I think I may eat more Paleo than LC as it just makes more sense to me.

    Alsval1 - LC is low carb. I've been eating low carb since 2007, though I did return to my old ways for a short time before coming back. The standard low fat diet did not work for me, I just kept gaining weight.

    Nancy, that's one thing I haven't done yet - get a blood glucose monitor. It would be quite helpful, I'm sure. I have a strong family history of diabetes and am trying to avoid that fate.

    Whole30 does make good sense. I am working to see what my personal carb load is. I'm using keto stix to monitor my ketone levels, and I also am watching my blood glucose levels to see how many carbs I can manage. Eating strictly nature's finest Whole foods is a great way to obtain your healthy best to be sure.
