Grief Share

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Today was a good day. I got a lot accomplished around the apartment. Mom wanted to go outside, so I took her for a walk to take out the trash. But after we walked a little while, she just sat down on her walker and wouldn't get up! I stood there for 20 minutes. I finally got her mad enough that she got up and started walking. My brother Tim came to spend some time with her so I could go to the Grief Share meeting at my church. He had to get her in.

Grief Share is a Christian program for people who are grieving the loss of someone they loved. It has video from people who have lost someone and professionals. They have a lot of good information and especially understanding and accepting of how each person grieves. They also told us that it affects us profoundly and explained how you can't focus or think. I remember when my sister died, one time I was driving in a mental fog. I "came to" and didn't know where I was or where I was going. Scary. I'm taking the course not only for my own grieving, but to be able to help others with theirs.

Getting ready to put on my Dancing with the Stars Latin Cardio DVD and shake it with Cheryl and Max. Have a good night all.
