No progress this week, but not bad because....

Well, I had no progress this week in weight loss but it isn't bad because I went to the fair earlier in the week and then out for a nice big lunch which included 2 glasses of wine yesterday. I am lucky I stayed even!! Yay me!!

I have been really tracking closely since 9/11. And as of today, I have lost 3.5 pounds. Not bad. It has been a back and forth thing, two steps forward one step back. Can be frustrating but I have to look at the big picture. And that is, I am losing and not gaining. And not really staying steady. So, I am happy with my results.

The main two things that I have really been diligent about is writing down all that I eat each day. Many of you on here use the tracker but I don't seem to keep up with using that so I do it the old fashioned way and that is with pen and paper. It seems to work better for me and as I have said in the past, you have to do what works for you. Second is that I have been making sure I get my steps in for the day. I have gone 51 days so far without fail, making all my steps. I try to up myself every couple of weeks to a new goal, not the one Garmin sets for me. One a bit higher than that. I think that has been a real big part of the reason I am losing weight more consistently.

So, I am not doing so bad. I also wrote on my Spark page a Secret to my Success. And mine was about making up prepackaged foods for the week and put in the fridge. It helps in keeping with the right portions and to help my hubby pack his lunch in the morning, also with correct portions. He lost 2 pounds last week!! Yay him!!!

    You are always SO positive - guess it's the only way to do this. That - and accepting that we all need little treats every now and then. Sounds like you had fun this week - but not enough to send you sky high. Well done you! Glad for you that overall your weight is going down.
    Know exactly what you mean about tracking on paper - it was all I could do whilst I ploughed through the technology difficulties. I was reminded that 'the quill pen and parchment' are well worth while! In actual fact I'm doing BOTH right now!! Keeping track of calories is easier - for me - on the tracker and I like the summary of calories in versus calories out on the Start Page. However - summarising what I've consumed in the day every evening on paper seems to stop me eating after dinner. Guess whatever gets us through as individuals is what matters. Love the idea of preparing portioned foods each evening - I may try that. Glad it's working for hubby too! I'm changing my weight tracker today so I can watch myself go back down the five pounds I've regained to encourage myself to keep at it.
    My downfall is - as always - keeping up the movement. I'm just SO-O lazy and what I know is that now I'm older the more I need to move and stretch or I seize up. Need to tattoo that on some plainly visible body part that I can see all day and every day to MAKE myself do it!
