Autumn 2016 -- Quarterly Goal Review

Monday, October 10, 2016

2016 goals:

* maintain daily step goals of 10,000 or more -YES!

* maintain daily fitness minutes goals 45 minutes or more - YES!

* maintain daily reading of 30 minutes or more - YES!

* avoid C.R.A.P. by purchasing more whole foods - YES!

* avoid impulse food purchases by sticking to the plan - YES!

* limiting our dining out to 1 time per month - YES:

* declutter the garage - YES!!! WE DID IT!!! We got rid of the donation stacks. Now to maintain and move out more!

* keep house decluttered by organizing items on hand - Did some more but still a work in progress

* work out with DH 10 minutes or more 3 times a week - may give up on this one. I can only control my own actions. I can't make him do anything he doesn't already want to do!

* work on core/balance/strength exercises 10 minutes or more 2 times per week - YES! but I did it more out of commitment than willingness -- it makes a difference in my output.

* work on small projects for 15 minutes or more 2 times a week when watching tv - YES!

* avoid evening snacking and make healthier options for DH (helps with avoiding C.R.A.P.) - slacked off during the summer months. having all the evening gatherings for B-days, BBQs and such made this tough for me. I'm doing better now.

* compete, complete and succeed in a 5% weight loss challenge - work in progress

* hit One-derland by year end - if i have one failure this year this will be the one. I just don't have it in me to make this one right now....but i'm STILL gonna give it my best shot

I've learned over the summer that I do really well on my own purchases and when focusing on just my plan. I don't, however, do well when it comes to all the gatherings and such. Mostly because everyone acts hurt if you don't try some -- I need to work on my ability to stay with my plan no matter who might get their feelings hurt. I also end up putting more weight on during this period because of all the extra carbs (breads, pasta salads, and birthday cakes, etc). Thank goodness summer is over and I can now have more control over what is available to eat. I will look into and work on my strength and discipline in this area now so that I can be prepared for next year. NO EXCUSES!!!

1/1 to 3/31 -- down 7 lbs!
4/1 to 6/30 -- maintained
7/1 to 9/30 -- gained it back = {

I know it's hard to tell people "no thanks, but I'm sure it's great." But if they care about you enough their feelings will understand your needing to be healthy. If their feelings are still hurt then they care more about themselves than they do about you and your health. It took my DD a bit to get used to her mom not eating some of her foods but now it doesn't even make her blink!

You are doing really well with hitting your quarterly goals!! I think it's more important to exercise as much as you do than it is to get more weight off. That exercise is SO good for you and your heart!

emoticon WOW... look at all those YESES!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU are emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That down 7,maintained, gained back is so typical with the seasons... at least you've identified the summer as your speed bump and you have a plan for next year. On the other hand can you imagine if you hadn't answered YES to most of your goals where you be now emoticon

I don't know if ONE-derland will ever be attainable for me.... you are probably closer to reaching that goal than I am and I encourage you to never give it up... let's face it YOU have G.R.I.T. emoticon emoticon emoticon
