One word for these three days....Tired!! emoticon So tired I couldn't even do a blog on any of the days so combining all into one. Friday was the worse. It didn't help that it was raining because that made me even more tired. I did manage to go to a function at my church that evening but the rest of the day I just wanted to lay down and sleep. Good thing work was quiet . My brain was not functioning.

Saturday and Sunday were a bit better but I spent each of the afternoons just laying on the couch with my dogs. Saturday night I went to bed at 8:30pm. My usual is 11:30pm. Yikes. Now I did read that this was a down side of grain elimination but I thought since I didn't go overboard daily on grains that I would be one of the ones not being so effected. Wrong on that count. First couple of days were fine and then wham-o....

One thing I have found is that I am not as hungry. My night time cravings except for Sunday night are non-existent. Happy with that as I am one of those night time snackers. Now if I do get hungry and it is not a meal time I grab a handful of raw almonds and that seems to do the trick. I also have been craving apples for some reason...maybe it is the fall weather.

What I ate:

Friday, Day 3
B: 2 eggs fried in bacon fat; 2 slices bacon; Coconut Chia Smoothie
L: Hamburger, diced tomatoes, onions with cilantro cauliflower rice
D: Beef stew
Sns: Coffee with heavy cream; carrots; cream cheese; apple with almond butter

Saturday, Day 4
B: 3 eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese and spinach
L: Beef stew
D: Pork Roast; ¼ mashed potatoes; carrots
Sns: 2 hardboiled eggs

Sunday, Day 5
B: 3 eggs fried in bacon fat; 2 slices bacon
L: WB deep dish pizza with onions & peppers
D: Sausage with onions and peppers sauteed in EVOO; Tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil salad with EVOO; ½ glass white wine; red wine
Sns: Prickly Pepper smoothie; apple with peanut butter

emoticon Sunday I tried out the deep dish pizza recipe in the WB 10 Day Detox book. Can't say I am a big fan. I am not a big pizza person to begin with. I like it but I only have it maybe once a month if that. Not one of my go to meals. However sometimes I do crave it and this weekend was one of those times. The WB crust is made with almond meal/flour, spices, shredded mozzarella and eggs. It came out great. But I put it on the same level with the cauliflower crust recipes....they are okay but I wouldn't be craving it anytime soon. I still am in search of finding a suitable replacement and will keep trying. I might try one of those english muffin grain free recipes and do pizza like that. I grew up on english muffin pizza. This is where I miss bread.

On to Day 6. Halfway done! emoticon

You're doing great! Sorry to hear the LC flu hit so hard. Are you doing anything to alleviate the symptoms? To get through this phase it helps if you eat more fat than you normally would (if you give the body an alternate fuel to burn, you don't feel the loss of carbs so much), and most importantly keep your electrolyte levels stable... potassium high (an avocado a day will do it), making sure you have enough magnesium, and eating more salt (drinking bone broth) will all help.

On the Paleo team there is a good recipe for a homemade electrolyte drink to help with this on the LCHF sticky thread... check it out!
