Wheat Belly 10 Day Detox Day 6 10/31/16

Tuesday, November 01, 2016

Tiredness was better today thankfully. I actually have energy. Doing a StepBet challenge which ends on Tuesday so concentrating on getting these last two days in. I have been doing it for about 6 weeks and I am not going to blow it now just because of not eating grains.

I cannot believe I am halfway through the 10 day detox and quite proud that I have made it this far. Usually after a couple of days I am giving up. But last night I was close. I wanted to give up. Scale was up a bit and that is discouraging. The book (and on facebook group page)has testimonies of people who when doing this detox lost 6, 7, 8 pounds. I had lost 4 and now 2 are back on. I know...the scale fluctuates and you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday. But I am a daily weigher. Always have been and won't be changing anytime soon.

I find I am snacking again at night. And not because I am hungry. I want something sweet (hence the figs) and nothing will satisfy me. But I am afraid if I eat something sweet I will want to abandon the detox and keep eating. I did buy cream cheese to make the Fat Busters the WB book has different recipes for. A lot of people on the WB facebook page keep talking about how good they are so I have to at least try them. I have been holding off on making them because as just stated...once I start.....

What I ate:

B: Beef stew (got some weird looks from DH when he saw me eating this for breakfast lol); coffee with heavy cream
L: WB Deep Dish pizza; lettuce with walnuts, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
D: ham; broccolini; peas with kerrygold butter
Sns: Butternut Ginger Snap smoothie; coffee with heavy cream; 2 deviled eggs; 3 figs; raw almonds

Decided after eating the WB pizza twice I think I will be tossing it. Was going to suck it up and eat the remaining two servings but can't do it. I hate to be wasteful but DH will not eat it either so tossing it. emoticon

Don't let the scale discourage you! You are doing great. When you start tossing food out just because it doesn't meet a certain standard, rather than eating it, you know you are creating lifestyle. You have great self-awareness... that's more than half the battle!
