Monday Already!

Monday, November 14, 2016

I don't know about you, but I feel like the weekend goes by so fast! I need another day off between Sunday & Monday. Maybe call it Prepday. Anyhoo, Sunday, I scored four pairs of running shoes for $200 + tax! I usually pay $125+ for a pair of running shoes. So I was very happy with my purchase. Merry Christmas to me! I want to run 12 half marathons in 12 months so I'll need them. But I need to find out how to deal with this sciatic nerve pain. It's a pain in my butt literally! I'm stretching more than ever now but nothing seems to work. My PCP told me to rest. I can't rest. Resting for me means weight gain & depression. I gotta keep moving!

This evening, I jogged 3.2 miles & did a lot of stretching. Wished I could've jogged longer, but it's dark here at 5:30 PM now. I really don't like jogging by myself when it's dark. I have mace & I do carry it in my hand once the sun goes down. And sometimes during the day if I run pass a group of people I don't know that look like they may want to try something. I give them the "don't mess with me look" & let them see I have mace! I might need to get me a taser. Just my luck, I'll shock myself! LMBO

I would love seeing your "don't mess with me" look. LOL. I am sure that that along with flashing your mace would keep anyone from messing with you.

Are you doing anything to strengthen your lower back? Sciatic pain isn't fun. A abdominal brace while you run might not be good just to remind you to keep your core engaged.

Horray on the shoes! For the siatica, I reccomend yoga. Downward facing dog, lunges, triangle pose. They will hurt to do, but it stretches out that area, and it WILL help. I deal with the same thing.
