Losing 100 pounds was just the beginning, now living my lifetime.

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

It's been awhile since I've done any blogging. I'm not sure exactly why other than life just happens and before I know it another day goes by. As a matter of fact January five years ago, I reached lifetime. It's hard to believe it's been five years. I know for a fact though that I've taken my maintaining one day at time. I've had lots of great days and a few days of the charts. I definitely want all of you to know that it isn't always easy. There are days that I'll have a binge and feel the same things I felt when I was on my journey to lose weight. The difference for me this time is I know that I can Be successful and I make the next decision most of the time a good one. I've managed to get nearly ten pounds below my goal weight which has helped me with the stress of monthly weigh-ins. I've found that I still need my meetings weekly, tracking, and exercise. Group support is a must and with FB and my friends I'm making it happen. Below is one of my pictures of my success. The first picture was when I got my Master's in Elementary education and the now picture was today in a new outfit my daughter gave me. She has always struggled with weight and she's doing WW on line. She has lost 20 pounds and I really think she has her head in the game this time. She has about 150 pounds to lose so I'm cheering her on. She working on letting go of perfection.

I had to give up pickle ball almost a year ago and it has been tough on me. I've had to find other outlets so been working on a Mystery Quilt recently and have loved challenging myself. Karen and Caryl of WW fame are also doing this with me. Below is a picture of the quilt. I've never seen so many little pieces together. I might add that this is only 1/4 of the quilt. Anyway it gives me joy and that's what living a healthy lifestyle is about.

I've found that my Rheumatoid Arthritis is rearing its ugly head. I've been experiencing pain for nearly six months and finally my doctor discovered that my wrist that hurt so much with PB is swollen with RA so I've just recently started Humira. It's an injectable drug and I'm hoping it will give me some much needed pain relief. Who knows, I may eventually get to play PB again.

Thanks for reading my blog. I sure miss our old community but I've learned you need to accept change and embrace the life you have.

Happy LT Anniversary! Sorry to hear about both the PB and the RA. Hopefully, the new medicine will bring PB back for you. The quilt is lovely. I'm glad the RA doesn't keep you from quilting. Good to "hear" your voice again.

Happy anniversary! We do have awful days, however, it's not 6 months to a year before we get back on track. Good for you.

RA-- I hope this med is a sure fit. Getting back to pickle ball would be great! Hope that happens.

It is indeed amazing how fast time flies. I keep meaning to blog, but .... also easy to put off , then the next thing you know months go by.

Sorry to hear the RA is flaring.
Did you see the article on FB today about aspartame poisoning? Not sure if you use that stuff or drink diet soda, but sounds like something to stay away from.

So happy to "see" you again!
You - and the quilt - are both lovely.

Best of luck to you with the Humira. I have a close relative with RA and it has done wonders for her. I hope you see the same results.

    Warm regards,
