Day 30: Yippee
Friday, March 10, 2017
Well, I am totally a month in now. I started exercising on 2/9. I am at 196.6 pounds.
I go to the gym a minimum of 3 days a week.
I do cardio every single time.
1 hour on the treadmill
Now up to 20 minutes on the elliptical
Every other time I go to the gym I do strength training trying to work each muscle group a little.
Every day I try to do at least 20 crunches and I am up to a 30 second plank.
But today people...For the first time in over 16 years...
I quit running when I quit having to take physical education in high school. And since then I haven't ran because it is really really hard with all this extra weight. And on top of that I am SO self-conscious about everything jiggling that I won't run in my neighborhood OR the gym for fear of someone seeing me like that. But today the gym was really empty There were only like 20 people in there max. So after walking for 35 minutes I cranked the speed up to running speed, held on to the handlebars and jogged. After 5 seconds I let go of the bars and ran. It HURT. But I did it. I did it for 30 seconds at first, cooled my heart rate back down, cranked it back up and ran for a minute! I did that one more time. I know it wasn't much, but it was much to me! I may not be seeing huge changes in my physical appearance, but between my moderating blood sugars, less need of insulin and now being able to run...It feels good.
Tomorrow my sister is coming up to see me and then it is a baseball Saturday for us. I want to try to get to the gym, but I may not make it and that's okay. Maybe I'll go Sunday.
I feel good. :)
