Then And Now XII

Yesterday was my birthday. In the past I'd get a call and sometimes a gift from my children and one or two friends. One friend always took me to dinner. My husband always got me a gift and took me out. Only once, on a special birthday, did anyone make a big fuss. To be honest, I sometimes felt like a stepchild.
Yesterday started out like most other birthdays. I had some errands and then the fireworks started. I got 14 phone calls, 4 gifts, 9 cards, and two invitations to dinner! My cordless phone was so busy I got the beep that told me it needed to recharge.
Imagine so many people remembering me and showering me with wonderful birthday wishes. The gifts were very modest but so precious: a bag of potato chips, a recipe, a small box of fancy soaps and a basket containing two fancy cheese plates and matching cheese knives, balsamic vinegar and a fancy jug for olive oil. This last gift was from my daughter and son-in-law.
If I told you I was happy it would be a gross understatement.; I was overjoyed. I'm still feeling all the positive energy. WOO HOO!
