Breakin' a sweat: double dippping to meet my goals

I just love working outside on my property. (An urbanite would call it working in the yard.) Today was pretty warm but it felt so good to be out there pushing my body to its 62 year old limit. The salt crystallized on my face making it feel tight; my eyes burned from the salt; and the salt on my lips tasted better than potato chips!
My limbs were tremulous and exhausted from hauling the 2 gallon weed sprayer up and down the hills for 3 continuous hours. Spay as you walk, stop to pump it up, walk some more... Mix up more vinegar/salt/Dawn solution. Repeat until 14 gallons of vinegar are applied to the roadside and banks. Its just is so satisfying at the end of the day to see the weeds that were so glossy and green this AM wilted and graying already. After all the record breaking rain here in Northern California this winter there are lots of weeds to conquer this spring. This is the thrill of the battle, another area conquered, reclaimed from the 10 acres of wild brush, weeds and trees.
Another consideration that thrills me is that I have been working hard, using up the calories (that should = pounds!). Double bonus for my labors. No doubt, I will sleep well tonight. Man, am I thankful to have an educational class tomorrow, allowing my body a break. If its not nearing 100 Thursday, I'll be back out there to battle another quadrant of weeds. Next week we go on vacation to see 2 of our sons in CO and I want to have earned those 2 weeks off! And to be truthful, be a bit thinner.
