Beginning again

Saturday, May 13, 2017

I don't even know how to begin to tell you how many times I have been down this road. It seems like even though losing weight is hard for me, keeping it off is always so much harder.

In 2015/2016 I manage to drop almost 80 pounds, but most of that I have gained back. I managed to maintain the loss for almost six months before new habits fell to the wayside while, one by one, old habits crept back. Three months after the weight loss stopped my hair began to fall out and this continued over another three month period until the hair loss stopped as suddenly as it began. I found out later that it is not uncommon after weight loss, but at the time it was certainly unnerving! It brought back twenty-five year old memories of being on chemo, only without the cancer!

Unfortunately, along with the unwelcome weight, my knee issues returned, and so I begin again. I see a number of my old SparkFriends are either on hiatus or have moved on, but as for me, the structure and support are exactly what I need right now.

emoticon Thank you for adding me as a friend. I, like you, who has been off and on since 2009. I got serious again when my brother moved into his own apartment in March. He lived with me for 2 1/2 months.

I want to be an encouragement to you!
