When I started Sparkpeople, I was (according to my BMI) morbidly obese. Yuck! What an awful term.
I have been a regular Sparker for 18 months. I set up a diet and exercise plan that I can live with. I changed my lifestyle to one where portion control and exercise are just a part of my daily routine.
This is the result of that effort: Starting weight, 239.8. Today's weight, 197 and, guess what, I am no longer obese. I am overweight! YES!! Only 8 pounds until the 180's. That's my next goal.
I have not had fantastic, dramatic weight loss. No. Sometimes I would lose a pound. During this whole process, after my first week, I have never lost more than 1.6 pounds in a week. Usually, my losses were in ounces, not pounds. My God, sometimes the frustration was horrible. However, when I was disappointed I would remind myself, "slow progress is still progress."
So today, 42.8 pounds later, here is my progress. I am overweight!
Fit and fat, here I come.
