Nice Sunday, Great start to Monday

Monday, July 24, 2017

Sunday was finally much cooler, not much humidity either. My husband and I had planned to go on a whale watch but it got cancelled due to rough seas. We walked around the town a bit and then spent a relaxing day at home. This morning I finally was able to run a whole 5k, 3.1 miles without stopping. Previously I had not been able to get up the hill at the 2 mile mark. Felt good today, had a mantra in my head saying "every step counts" and I pushed myself through. My time was 36:55 or 11:55 minute miles. I used to be a long distance runner 2 years ago before knee surgery and want to get back to racing. I am happy with my run today but want to better my time. Looking to enter some 5 k races in the fall and the annual New Year's day 10 k beach run on Jan. 1 2018. Each year after the race, I jump into the freezing ocean and go totally under. Great way to start a new year. These are some of my goals and I have been working to make them happen. Have a nice Monday everyone.
