Take a Breather

Today hubby and I took a breather.
I have been sick for so long. This weekend was the first we both agreed I was on the mend, and almost back to normal. Which meant...well it was counter-intuitive. Which meant we had a low-key day.
We laughed a lot. We reveled in each other. We played music and insulted each other. Which sounds bad, unless you also come from a family where you show love by teasing. Trust me, it was perfect for us.
Hubby decided we were postponing the major decluttering project we had planned. He has committed to doing the same in pieces in the evening this week. Fine by me. Regardless it is getting done.
We also booked our 2018 travel. if you've been following me for a while you'll know that hubby and I have a big age difference. This has made us very aware, from the beginning of our relationship, that we need to make every minute count. From our first year together (33 years now) we've been crossing off bucket list ideas, before "bucket list" was a thing. This year we're taking rally car classes in New Hampshire. Driving cars on dirt roads at crazy speeds and learning to jump them. Can't wait!
Next year is a two week cruise that takes us to England, Norway, Iceland, and Scotland. Two of these countries my former-military-husband has never been to. THAT is an accomplishment. Last year I managed a trip where we visited FIVE countries he'd never been to.
That was my day. How was yours? Did you take a breather? You deserve it.
