My Spark coach assignment today was to discuss the roadblocks I encountered and how I overcome them to get in my exercise.
I used to have roadblocks. Heck, I used to create roadblocks/excuses to not exercise. However, that was the old me. The new me now embraces exercise as a part of my daily routine. I feel better, sleep better, and overall have a more positive attitude if I exercise.
Let me tell you, this did not come about overnight. I started small, the famous “just 10 minutes” that Sparkpeople loves to talk about. I found something l liked to do; another must if you plan to sustain for any length of time. And, finally, I got rid of the “all or nothing attitude” I carried about it. I accept that in order to be successful exercise, like tracking, portion control and moderation, had to become a part of my journey.
I accepted it, I embraced it, and now I look at it as part of the lifestyle I am seeking to maintain throughout my journey and beyond.
What is the best exercise? The best exercise is one that you are willing to do.
For now the roadblocks are gone. Forever? Probably not; but now I know how to find my way past them. That’s the important thing.
